Eye of Horus Fused Glass by HoneyCatJewelry Eye of Horus Fused Glass by HoneyCatJewelry
You are viewing a very bright and elegant pendant that is about 2 1/2 inches by 1 1/2 inches in size, and is hand etched with a black swirl and an Ancient Egyptian "Eye of Horus" design on a gorgeous baby-pink dichroic glass background, on a oval shape. The glass oval rests in a lovely antique silver plated cameo setting, and the color of the pendant is even more vibrant than the camera shows; it practically glitters! The dichroic glass is capped with clear glass to give it a look of depth.

It was cut, shaped, designed, and fused by me in my kiln. It is made of pure glass, and is very durable. The glass is bonded into the silver setting.

This is gorgeous. The idea of putting an Egyptian Eye of Horus with that certain colour and in such a delicate-looking pendant is unconventional but it works so well here. :)

Anubis is awesome too!! XD (Isn't Ubasti another way of spelling Bast, or am I just weird...?)

I'm actually not sure. I know Bastet is, but I dunno. It does look familiar, though.

What I don't understand is whenever people see the eye on a pyramid they automatically think it's some kind of conspiracy. :X

But yes, very nice necklace. Blessed Be! ^^ )O(

Why are so many people afraid of the Eye of Horus? It seems like whenever they see an eye on a pyramid they think it's some kind of conspiracy.

Not sure exactly. I think it's for a couple of reasons. One of them might be that it is closely associated with the Illuminati, which a lot of people are paranoid about, and people also associate it with the evil eye.

Thankyou! These settings are definitely my favorite. I used to use them all the time with my cameos and chainmail. My ebay supplier left, so I couldn't find them for like everrrrrrr, and I finally just did! I have them in all sizes, including earring sizes, so I can't wait to use more. They don't have that flimsiness that a lot of settings do, and in my opinion they look the nicest and classiest.

I think I have two sizes right now that I still have yet to use xD. Ive just been having a time trying to figure out what kind of design I want to use for them and Ive only really shaped rings to specific settings thus far. I'll have to try something soon.

I was lucky and didn't have to think of a new design. I had the glass lying around for weeks. I didn't like it enough to use it on it's own. I was originally gonna use a pinch bail like I do with my other ovals, but it seemed to "meh" to me. So as soon as I got those settings I started grinding down that sucker. Glad I did, though. Glass is much more pretty in settings.

It is pretty in a setting. Ive been working on new designs anyways so I should make myself design something for a setting since Ive had them for nearly a year now ^_^'

It adds a really nice weight to them, too. I like jewelry a little heavier, personally.

I saw that person on etsy is still trying to sell those pair of wings, and relists them every couple of days. As if she thinks people really aren't going to spend .50 cents more to get a gorgeous high quality pair. Some people. ><

Thanks! I don't think I'll be making this in purple, purple glass is pretty dark and I'm afraid it won't show up as well. Might be making it in blue, though.
